Mr. Quitevis was born and raised in Tacoma Washington, his parents migrated from the Philippines in pursuit of the American Dream at the end of the 70's. His mother a now retired registered nurse and father retired second generation military service member embarked on raising him and his sister to the best of their ability in the new country.
Growing up Q was heavily influenced by the musical sounds of Funk, Jazz, Golden Era Hip-Hop and Top 40 Pop. He recalls in his younger years as a B-Boy is what exposed him to the elements of Hip-Hop, more specifically the discipline of the DJ. Q admits stealing his dad's vinyl and learned to scratch to the sounds of various 70's & 80's artists. At the age of 16 he would go on to sell his clarinet for his very first turntable and mixer setup and to this day he admits to never feeling guilty about that decision.
Fast forward to the present, his street knowledge and past networks lead him to create an urban clothing brand from Tacoma known as Grit City Clothing™, a DJ crew known collectively as Beat Kings, and the underground music production label Cutting Fingers Inc.
On Mister Q's spare time he experiments with music composition and remix techniques, rides motorcycles, shoots guns, lifts weights and enjoys a good meal at his favorite restaurant. As a website owner, a turntablist music producer, content creator and all around busy individual, Q stresses balance and passion should never be confused with greed in success.

What's up to my Tacoma, Seattle peeps and the rest of Washington?! It's been a hot minute updating the website and I have been meaning to give you a website update along with my journey in life. When I started my adventure in the gorgeous country of Poland back in the beginning of June, I never realized how much I would absorb my time with work which has taken me away from making music and creating content. Along with hard work means playing harder on the weekend and getting loose with adventure and relaxation.
Poland is nothing like America, similar in many ways but still unique to identity. I have grown to love everything about the culture, social norms, people and mannerisms. So what more can I say? I've made a good handful of friends, created future ventures and continually foster the connections I make, living the Grit City brands ethos of ACTA NON VERBA, Never Give Up.
This country has definitely won my heart over for cities such as Białystok, Łódź, Wrocław and Katowice just to name a few and now I am highly interested in property to call second home. What does this mean for the operations of Grit City and my crew? All it means is while I try to spend as much time in Poland, I will have to periodically have to come back to the United States due to travel stay limitations. Unless I have a work visa, work towards dual citizenship or marry a Polish women, I will still be making trips back to America.
Why Poland?, You may ask. The truth is I'm near retirement and the way of life out here fits perfectly for me. The brand will remain and will continue to grow so don't worry friends. Music opportunities seem bigger out here so that's where a part of my other interests are. Nevertheless, the 253 to the 206 is the first home, one love homies! Mad love for you all too in the +48!
